My Thoughts
I've been ordering from Pale On the Go for a couple of years now and I'm so thankful for their heat-and-eat meals! Finding food on the AIP diet can be very frustrating. Especially when you don't feel like prepping and cooking crazy long recipes and just want something you can defrost, heat, and eat. Paleo On The Go has been a lifesaver for me when I'm too tired to cook and just need something quick and convenient to pop in the oven. One of my favorite meals is these Mojo Chicken Empanadas (pictured here photo by Paleo on the Go). Gluten-Free, Dairy-Free, Grain-Free....and more! These AIP-compliant meals are the perfect thing to stash in your freezer for those time when you just don't want to cook. They also change up the menu for different seasons so there are a lot of new meals to try throughout the year.
How Have I Tested?
I've probably placed about 5 orders over the years. The food is always consistent, tasty, and easy to heat up. I don't have a microwave so I take the food out of the packaging and place it in a covered casserole baking dish for most of the cooking time and then if it needs to crisp up a bit, I take the cover off and cook it a little longer. It works just fine. My favorite meals so far:
Chocolate Cake (sadly, no longer available)
Pros and Cons
PROS: Ease and convenience is definitely a pro.
CONS: Cost is probably a con for most. As with any special diet food it is more expensive than just grabbing some food from the freezer section of the grocery store. They do offer a discount if you sign up for a subscription so that's an option. I usually space my boxes out a few months apart so I can still enjoy their food but it's a little easier on my budget.
*They offer 8, 12, or 16 item boxes so you can choose a box according to your needs and budget. So that can possibly be a pro as well.
Final Words
I think Paleo on the Go AIP Meal Delivery Service is a great addition to your healthy eating repertoire. If it's a little too prices for you, do what I do. Just order a few times a year to have a convenient heat and eat meal available to you when you just don't have the energy to cook. You can purchase one time meal boxes or schedule your subscription dates further apart.
